Screamo Bands Vs Pop Singers

Yesterday someone told me that Screamo bands aren’t “really” music and that they should go cut themselves and stop playing music, this person likes today’s “Pop” music.

Now i have nothing wrong with pop music though i am screamo (post-hardcore, metalcore etc) listener and everyone has their own opinion on the matter, yet he never listened to any screamo bands which refers to him as a idiot, since how can you judge a genre of music if you haven’t listen to them.

In my own opinion i prefer screamo music instead of pop music, because screamo bands bring more a electric and fast beat music with great lyrics such as love, family, over-coming things etc (which is mostly what i listen to) but from time-to-time i play the “kill yourself” stuff, just because of the angry in the vocals helps release aggression i might have.

With pop music their arm is love songs, which i don’t mind but the contentious flow of love songs just bore me and make me a little depress (due to the fact i’m single lol) and they always some-what repeat the beat or the lyrics such as “Baby”- Justin bieber. (but she isn’t a singer, just a little kid stealing money off people i.m.o)

There are a few good pop singers but i won’t spend hours listening to their music, in totally screamo music have more passion in the lyrics and the beat are quite unique since alot of pop music use audio-tune to create a techno feel to the songs yet screamo bands just stay pure to the instruments and rock out the old way, *note*some songs i have do have a techno feel to it but its really limited (I See Stars, Attack Attack!)

I do listen to pop song while in the car when the radio is on, and what makes it so bad is that the radio stations just keep playing the same songs over 5 times within a span of 2hours, which really destroys the songs and just makes it really annoying when it is played again again and again!

Screamo is my choice on this matter, whats your view? or about any of genre of music

So only judge a genre of music if you listen to it and have a non-biased view to music.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Why it was a success in my eyes

Normally, a video game/comic book movie is a somewhat giant flop (Street Fighter, Max Payne, Kick Ass (though haven’t read the comics) etc) though alot of the fan based are asking for the movies to be made, the latest one in this series is Scott Pilgrim Vs The World, a movie based around the Comics called Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O’Malley.

It follows the story of Scott Pilgrim, a 24 something year old adult who falls in love with Ramona Flowers, a mysterious teenage just arrived in Canada, to win Ramona love Scott Pilgrim has to battle Ramona seven evil ex’s to win her heart and prove that they are ment to be, this is just a brief outline of the story, and the comic books goes into a further explanation of other characters, such as Knives (Scott 17 year old gf) and Kim (23 year old, ex girlfriend from high school) and how scott must deal with his social life/problems of the best while battling Ramona’s evil ex’s.

Now i had no idea about the comic books prior to seeing the movie, and after being amazed at the story driven movie, funny yet awkward jokes and the epic video game reference fights scene, this movie truly lives up the fan based idea of how the movie should have been made.

The reason why this movie is such a success to the fan base, is that the creator of Scott Pilgrim Vs The World Bryan Lee O’Malley, co worked with the director of the movie Edgar Wright to create a master piece that shows love to the comic book fan based and to introduce new comers to the series.

After watching the movie two times, i decided to read the comic books, 6 book series around 120+pages long, what makes the comic book and movie so prefect is that the movie is based around all 6 books and stays true to the storyline, jokes and characters instead of changing the story or making Scott a badass instead of a socially awkward 24 year old and they pick the right actor/actress to play the roles, in which helps create the prefect mix of comic book personalities  to the actors/actress ability to preform.

It keeps to the characters profiles that Byran created during the six books, although alot of the back-story to Scott friends and himself are cut out we get a small picture on how things happened prior to Ramona showing up in Canada which shows great respect to the fan based yet allows the new comers to be introduced to the comic book and have a read after seeing the movie. (Like what happened with me and i loved both the book and movie, noticing all the little details that appear in the movie)

Without spoiling the development of the characters and the epic boss fight at the end of the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, brings new light to the comic book/fan based movie deals, hopefully the next cross-over movie will listen to the creator of the series and/or the fan base, to secure a classic hit with the people and inspire more directors to have a shot at further boarding the fan base of comic books and/or video games (as long as its not a giant flop)

Overall, i suggest you see Scott Pilgrim Vs the World then read the comic books, to see the differences between the comic book and movie.

This is my first post, so go easy on me :D
